 sorry! Seems like I cause too much trouble... I'm signing off for a while.

BUT girls do talk lots...get used to it. We all probably all talked too much according to our Mums...but we'e all here.

We're here (some of us) because we weren't understood as children, so we are trying to understand our kids more. What ever stage we come at that from is going to be right, because we are doing it concsiously.

ariad, don't take me too seriously, that comment was meant very lightly :) (I actually like people hanging out in the bath with me, drinking, eating chocolate and snogging :giggle ) you should see my post about teasing in the in-laws thread. I probably just slipped again on that. :uhh

and gilda! nice to see you :) and good to know it's not only girls!

Yeah I agree Gilda, DSS is 11 and will babble on for hours about things that interest him.

Having said that, DP's nickname used to be marbles ...they reckon he could talk underwater with a mouthful of marbles! He's a truck driver ... can never shut him up on the UHF radio :blahblah2 (or any other time)

could be a genetic thing :lol

Mr5 was helping me make some coleslaw for dinner tonight and he just would not stop talking , when he started telling me about all of these amazing things that happened in his dream one night I smiled thinking of this thread. I am sure he just loves the sound of his own voice. :giggle

I know this is almost a year old but OH. MY. GODDESS. I am giving you lots of sypmathy MF. DS never shuts up. and it isn't even stuff he is making up he just craps on about what he can see! And it is purely for the sake of talking. I can't count the amount of times he will beg and beg for someones attention :wave and then when he gets it he has to look around to find something to talk about :laughs
I get into the thing of 'uh huh, yeah, really, yep' and then he slips in a question that I actually have to pay attention to like "can I cook myself some pasta on the stove?" (he is 4) and I just answer yes automatically and then have to back track :giggle :bang
Apparently I was the same as a kid, and my dad can still talk the hind leg off a donkey...
One interesting thing I have noticed (and put down to D's aspie tendencies, but could be wrong) is that DS talks at you, it isn't a conversation, it is just him talking at you constantly and always has been, even when he was little he had no interest in what other people had to say :rofl But DD (1) has conversations with people. She has no adult words yet, but plenty of her own that are very understandable and she talks to and with people - again, fairly constantly but it is slightly easier to deal with cos she is interacting with you rather than at you. :shrug could be an age thing, could be anything I spose but some days when they are both tired and get going I swear you can see my brain dribbling out my ears :nut :dizzy

Another one with the endless talker being a DS rather than my girls. He goes on and on and on and on :nut

DD2 said "he's just got a BIG imagination" and she's right - the girls talk to, but not incessantly.

My nearly 12yr old is driving me MAD with this atm!!! She doesn't even tell me things that are interesting, it's practically all BABBLE!!! There's only so much crap I can politely laugh at!!! And my son does it too, but at least he talks about interesting stuff like killing cockroaches and buying busses :nut

me --> :fish

I have 4 kids and a husband who all love to talk all THE TIME!
Its very distracting for me. Also I am not much of a chatter, I prefer quiet!
So its a challenge.

I go through fits and spurts of tolerance. It usually runs dry by about 3 or 4 in the afternoon atm which I assume is coz I'm pregnant.
