it's all blowing up in my face! :bang

today i was having an accupuncture treatment, and just before the doctor showed up, dd decided she wanted to clean up her room - and not just clean it up, really organise her toy boxes and stuff.

so then the doctor arrived to do the treatment, and dd wouldn't stop hassling me and disturbing. I tried to get dp to help her with her room, and suggested they go for a bike ride down to the post office (something dd normally loves to do). only no-go. she wanted my attention.
so i went into my bedroom with the doctor to get the treatment, and he was suggesting that it would be best if we could have quiet so i can fully relax. so i called to dp that he could take dd to the shop to buy her a treat.
and dd said "I don't want to go to the shop to get a chocolate! I Just want to CLEAN MY ROOM!"
all i could do was laugh.
all that radical unschooling was backfiring on me - i couldn't even bribe my kid with chocolate if i wanted to :lol

(I did get my treatment in the end btw - just had to ask dd to clean up her room quietly)

It must be an age thing MF, C has decided that it is now actually possible for her to tidy her room too....properly! Love it!

my dd is 6 and 3/4
I think she got into the "thing" of tidying her room when she got her own room for the first time, about a year ago.

:rofl that's a classic! (was it actually brought and not bought?)
and secretly; while I hope DD absorbs my penchant for correct grammar and usage, I don't really want her to pick up on my habit of pedantry. I've realised it's incredibly annoying and doesn't really raise the standards of language
